2020–2025 Odysseys need an AGM battery. Every Odyssey from 2020 on came with an AGM battery. A standard flooded battery is not a substitute.

On 2018–2019 Odysseys, some trims need AGM. Touring and Elite models with the 10-speed transmission and idle-stop came with an AGM battery; 9-speed LX, EX and EX-L models use a standard battery. If yours has auto start-stop, or the battery in it now is labeled AGM, it needs AGM again.

For 2011–2017 Odysseys, a standard battery fits and AGM is an optional upgrade, worth it if the minivan sits for long stretches, makes a lot of short trips or runs accessories with the engine off.
